Mission and Aims

Mission and Aims

Established as aDivision of BACP in 2010,like other BACP divisions, BACP Coaching is managed by BACP members on a pro bono voluntary basis, and supported by BACP staff.

Our mission is promoting ethical, effective and professional coaching for the well being and enhancement of individuals and organisations. Our core values are consistent with the BACP Ethical Framework. Specifically, we aim to be:
  • Transparent and consultative

  • Generative and Innovative

  • Inclusive and collaborative

  • Responsive and supportive

  • Good value for money and financially viable.

Firstly, weaim to create a supportive, generative and informative forum for dialogue, networking, belonging, growing, learning and the development of coach specific professional standards forBACP members. Many of our members embraced coaching some time ago; BACPnow facilitates it as a practice area more explicitly.

Secondly, weaim to provide quality information about coaching to clients and purchasers of coaching and related services, particularly where those services are underpinned or informed by therapeutic principles.

Current projects going on within BACP Coaching include:

  • Growing ourregional and local networking events for BACP members interested in coaching. See"local events" page for details.

  • Exploring how the existing BACP Ethical Framework sits within coaching.
  • Taking part in National Discussions with other Coaching bodies

More projects are going on behind the scenes - see the News Page for the latest developments
