Welcome to BACP Coaching

BACP Coaching - a division of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy

BACP Coaching is the specialist Coaching Division of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the largest professional body in Europe representing counselling and psychotherapy, with over 36,000 members. BACP sets standards for therapeutic practice and provides information for therapists, clients of therapy, and the general public. BACP Coaching promotes ethical, effective and professional coaching for the well being and enhancement of individuals and organisations.  From therapeutic foundations, our coaching members work right across the field of coaching practice, research and academia, including in the domains of personal / life, workplace / executive, education, social care and healthcare.

You can see our  Mission and Aims  here.

Current projects going on within BACP Coaching include:

  • Growing our regional and local networking events for BACP members interested in coaching. See "local events" page for details.

  • Exploring how the existing BACP Ethical Framework sits within coaching.
  • Taking part in National Discussions with other Coaching bodies
  • Putting together information and advice about coach training, and mapping out the various options with the aim of providing some signposts for our members

More projects are going on behind the scenes, details will be posted here as available.

We have an online forum for the coaching division on www.linkedin.com.  Please note that this group is only for BACP members.
